BehindTheLyrics is still a baby, and we have lots of ideas in store for the future, many of which will be implemented in the coming months and weeks. In the meantime, what do you think we should do to improve BehindTheLyrics?

I cannot think of anything right now. I've seen a lot of the builds progressively and nothing has ever occured to me.cwcbb33 says: Oct 28, 2004, 9:15 PM
This is a damn good ideajoaks says: Oct 29, 2004, 3:27 AM
i'm with cwcbb33.so what kind of features are you planning, cv? ;)
ccarpenter says: Oct 29, 2004, 8:46 AM
I can't help but notice that cwcb33 includes my intials in his name. Who is this?New features could include a wide range of things, from sheet music to posters to anything the mind can dream up. We've discussed doing a "Featured Blog" each month, and we've had several other ideas. But we'd love to hear from anyone who has ideas, so feel free to suggest some!

Hmm...it really irritates me that there is no count of registered users publicly displayed.MrWinky says: Nov 1, 2004, 10:48 AM
It's still a new site, but I already like this site much more for lyrics then any of the other ones out there. The layout is great with the songs being in Alphabetical order. I also like how it's not listed by the artist’s last name. You might want to list what cd's a song appeared on by that artist, I wouldn't go so far as mix CD's , like NOW!, as that would take a bit more work.

We do plan to eventually add albums to the archives, though we haven't quite planned when yet. Thanks for your input! :)cvincent says: Nov 1, 2004, 11:06 AM
I'm working on that one, Zeph. We plan to add a lot of different statistics to the front page to help users through the site quickly.joe says: Nov 1, 2004, 6:02 PM
Ooo, I just had a stellar idea.On the forums annihilate the right sidebar and expand the forum width. I think it would make the forums a little bit easier to read, since the posts won't be so darn vertical.
Just an idea.

That's a good idea, Joe. I'll work on implementing it.joe says: Nov 1, 2004, 6:29 PM
Another small idea.At the top right, before our user profiles start, have a date of registration. It would look something like this.
User since blah blah, blah, 200X

That's another thing I have planned.Leon5465 says: Nov 2, 2004, 10:28 AM
I don't know if this is feasable, but for the BTL Bookmarklet, when you put a song title in could it bring up every song by that artist that has that one or two words in it? So if you don't know the exact name of it it'll still come up. Like... if I put Pink Floyd for the artist and just type "Numb" for the song, it would bring up the song Comfortably Numb (good song :D). Also, you should make a BTL icon to display on shortcuts and in the address bar and what not.cvincent says: Nov 2, 2004, 11:05 AM
I'm actually planning on getting a favicon up later today (the little icon you're referring to). That's a good idea for the BTL Bookmarklet. I'll see if I can implement it.

Is there any chance of these forums becoming vBulletin style. I don't actually know what it takes for that to happen but I like the forums I've been to that are.cvincent says: Nov 4, 2004, 6:25 PM
I very much prefer custom forums, since it's easier to link into the rest of the site. However, you could tell me what specific features you're looking for, and I'll certainly consider them.thebloodybrothers says: Nov 5, 2004, 11:00 AM
i like the poster profile stuff, such as signatures, avatars, post counts, stuff like that. its really just out of habit though. no big deal.cvincent says: Nov 5, 2004, 1:28 PM
Signatures and avatars are dually noted and coming soon. Post counts are available on each user's profile page (though it is updated only when you log in or out, to spare server load).Leoniceno says: Nov 7, 2004, 9:29 PM
I think it'd be cool to add some wiki type elements to the site, like Wikipedia. It'd be neat if each artist could have a Wiki page, and members could edit content on those pages, so that those that feel like it can write about their favorite bands. The beauty of the wiki format is that since anyone can edit, it's self moderating. So, my idea: wiki format on artist info pages.cvincent says: Nov 7, 2004, 9:31 PM
Leoniceno, I was actually thinking about taking that approach to the artist information pages. Maybe not a wiki page, but adding a comments thread, just like the song pages. I dunno. I will consider it, thanks. :)kyouteki says: Nov 29, 2004, 4:07 PM
I would recommend expanding the BBCode to include things like blockquote, acronym, and color.cvincent says: Nov 29, 2004, 9:27 PM
